1- Iowa first municipal wind turbine.

2- Klamath falls- geothermal heating system keeps the Sidewalks clear and dry.

3-Seattle reduces its own pollution by 60% by constructing green buildings and operating alternative fuel vehicles.

4- Houston Taxes: by 2010 all vehicle will become hybrid.

5-Salt lake city save $32000 a year on its energy cost by installing 861 light emitting diode (LED) traffic signals.

6-Washington DS: replace 414 of its polluting diesel buses with cleaner burning, compassed natural gas buses.

7-Colombia Missouri- working to produce 10% of there electricity with clear energy like wind and solar power by 2015.

8-Twin falls Idaho- School increased their efficiency of energy which caused to reducing in cost by $3.2 million.
9 ST. Paul has built a biomass fired power plant for heating buildings.

Masdar is going to be developed using these 10 principles:

1- Zero carbon: nowadays the earth's atmosphere has negative impact.
2- Zero waste: throw some things and make some places dirty.
3- Sustainable transport: transport can make pollution which effect our planet a negatively.
4- Local and sustainable Materials: those can cause environment harm which we can use some things instead it.
5- Local and sustainable food: it's better to produce local food and take the benefits.
6- Sustainable water: restore natural water cycles.
7- Natural Habitués and wildlife: developing of natural areas can make loss.
8- Culture and heritage: the improvement and developing of the countries make the local losing.
9- Equity and fair trade: many poor people life where as the rich can not use their things positively or sell it.
10- Health and happiness: the rising of the wealthy but many people asking if some thing will be done?

My Carbon Footprint

A carbon footprint is a measure of the amount of carbon dioxide or CO2 and measures of the impact our activities. My carbon footprint score was 2.55 that means I'm living as if there were 2.55 earths it were poor for food I'm eating to much meat and also poor for transport because I'm using my car more than 8 hours daily. Now I am going to write about the problems and solutions.

There are several important problems human can cause and I'll outline my problems of carbon footprint. One major issue is that drive my car daily. Using my car more than 8 hours instead I walked or use other transport method such as motorbike or bicycle and this can make pollution. Another obvious problem uses the electrics when I don't need. Everyday I used the power wrongly such as I don’t turn off my room light when I leaved it and don’t turn off the AC or TV those things caused warm the plant. A final, don’t arrange my home. For example, when I finish watching TV I throw fast food in the home rubbish.

Although, there are some solutions. First significant answer is that turning off lights and any electrical machine. When I leave my home must do that if I don’t need to keep them turn on and use the electrical things positively. Another important answer is that don't travel by car or plane. For example, go to by my foot when I have to go some not far places or use a bicycle when I can. A last, I changed my daily food. I like today to eat vegetables instead of meats and fish.
In conclusion, everyone must reduce his footprint. However we live in one planet therefore, we must save it and do some thing positively.

Social Issues-Lebanon

Lebanon is the only country in the Middle East where there is almost an equal number of Muslims and Christians. It was called in the bible ''the land of milk and honey''. The capital of Lebanon is Beirut (Paris of western Asia).the famous singer is half Lebanon is ''Shakira''. It's bordered by five countries Jordan, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria and Israel.

Lebanon had many problems such as increased tensions between Muslims and Christians between 1943, 1948. Christians held the balance of power whereas Muslims had little this was the result of the tensions. In 1975 Christian groups killed a bus full of Palestinians people. In 1982 the Israeli army invaded the city with the aim of removing the Palestinian liberation organization (PLO). A pea's deal reached in 1989. There were human and economic costs of the conflict about 180,000 people died during the civil another 300,000 were wounded around a quarter of the population in Lebanon and Beirut's economy was moved. Some people born in Beirut are not Lebanon and don't have the Lebanese citizen right.

Nowadays, Lebanon is from best tourism countries in the world. Now the government of Lebanon started to build and renew the old buildings. The people who leaved Lebanon in civil war started to coming back to Beirut.

Why is it called “An Inconvenient Truth”?

Because a lot of people don’t know about it. It's really a truth issue in the world and all people over the world must know about it. Also they called it to take action about global warming. Many people don’t care about it and al Gore tried to let them know about "An Inconvenient Truth"

What should be done in Abu Dhabi to make people more aware of the situation?

UAE like other countries in the world which facing global warming today. Abu Dhabi must aware people about global warming. Therefore the government must write in newspaper about it everyday, also in TV must put a program show a day in week and make lectures at schools, colleges and university to aware people about a huge problem. Bring best Scientists in the world to explain to the people about what is global warming and what can cause. Advertising in the roads and, pictures everywhere to explain to people what it is and give people Al Gore film or show it at cinema. Abu Dhabi government should work hard to aware people about this huge issue.

Nowadays, the world has many problems. An Inconvenient Truth film which we saw about the huge problem in the world today, it's global warming. Some countries have started to change the climate and some of them not because the global warming some of them have starts to build cool cities. Therefore the UAE today decides to make cool cities in Abu Dhabi and if this development happens will make the Abu Dhabi a cool city. Abu Dhabi will build Al Masdar city which a first city in the world hasn't pollution, this city will make Abu Dhabi from the best cities in the world. Last, I will outline in this project who should take action and how we can help our country to make it better and better.





An Inconvenient Truth

Al Gore's movie talked a bout global warming. It means an increase of the earth's temperature. He said this is one of the most serious environmental problems in the world. Moreover, if this problem countries in the future will be harmful for next generation. Now I'm to going to write about this movie.

This movie mentions several important effects of global worming. One significant effect is climate changes. Increasing the temperature therefore the climate gets warmer and high temperature leads to glacier retreat. Another major effect is that carbon dioxide. Scientists of the world said, this increase of carbon dioxide can have negative impact on the earth's atmosphere. Finally, global warming affect ocean's by raising the sea level for example, Greenland ice sheet and Anthracitic ice sheet.

There are also several causes of global warming. One obvious cause natural gas, this caused by cars and industries. Last important cause is greenhouse. This increase in the air and make more heat in the earth.

In summary, this is a huge problem in the world today. However, many people in the world know that global warming happening and they must take action and all the countries in the world should help other to find the solution to this.




Reaction

Some people don't know anything about global warming. I didn't know the real meaning of it until I saw the Al Gore movie.

When I saw this movie I realized that the global warming is most problems in the world. I also began thinking how we can reduce it and we should advice people and warn them about global warming.
In my opinion, the government of the U.A.E must take action about global warming and start to make solutions to reduce it. I also suggest that all countries in the world work together as a team to solve this dangerous problem.
